Shoreline Protection | McIntyre
The lakeshore is not only beautiful it’s ever-changing. There are a number of natural processes that affect our coast including lake level responses to weather and climate, storms and storm surges, ice on the shore, and local water currents to name a few. With the recent high water levels, some shoreline property owners are experiencing major challenges with shoreline erosion, and in more extreme cases real emergencies.
Below is a real life example of one of our client’s experiences and how our team is working together to help them protect both their lakeshore and landscape investment.
In the beginning
Not long ago, we were putting the finishing touches on the McIntyre’s new landscape project at their beautiful property on Lake Huron. We were thrilled to have them share about their experience in their own client testimonial video. It’s hard to believe the water level was so much lower only a few years ago…
When the unexpected happens
Not more than five years later, the McIntyre residence and many others along the lakeshore are facing a pretty significant challenge with the high water levels. This fall we received word that they were experiencing some damages to their property as the high water was slamming against their landscape and property.
Protecting their investment
It’s impossible to predict what will happen to water levels and the shoreline that surrounds it in the coming days, months, and years, but having protection is better than the alternative, especially in times like these. Esch Landscaping cares very deeply for our shoreline clients like the McIntyre’s and their properties. Our team worked diligently to help reduce the impact the high water was having on their shoreline and landscape and better protect their lakeshore investment. By designing and constructing a protective barrier beneath the water at the edge of their shoreline we were able to better protect their patio, landscape, and shoreline overall from wave damage and erosion.
Moving Forward
Coastal impacts can be quite unpredictable and vary greatly from place to place. We can help you determine how vulnerable your property is to damage from extreme lake levels, storm waves, and erosion, and we will help you weigh the options for reducing that vulnerability.
