Position Overview
The position is a seasonal (April - November) full-time position. The Asphalt Crew Leader is an experienced employee with a complete understanding of asphalt construction and works with minimal supervision. This position directs the activities of a team of two or more in asphalt construction. The asphalt division focuses on light commercial and residential driveways, parking lots, crack fill, and line striping. This position operates a variety of machines, complete site prep, and installation of asphalt and base materials.

Work Conditions:
Ability to work with hand tools, small engine equipment, and materials
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds
Requires good manual dexterity
Excellent stamina is required
Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum 5+ years of professional asphalt experience
Must include references for the following experience:
Operating paving equipment, including but not limited to the paving, rolling, tacking
Understanding of and skilled with the asphalt installation process from grading to basing to topping surfaces
Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
Ability to follow safe working procedures
Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
Must possess a valid chauffeur’s driver’s license and medical card prior to date of hire; however, CDL Class A license is a plus
Wage Range: Based on education, certifications, and experience.
