Landscape Team Member

Position Overview
The position is a seasonal (April - November) full time position. The Landscape Team member would work on hardscapes, softscapes, irrigation or shoreline protection within the landscape industry. Hardscape refers to the hard materials that are incorporated into landscapes, such as brick pavers, retaining walls, pillars, and vertical features. Softscape refers to final details of a landscape project, such as plants and seeding. Irrigation could include sprinkler system installs or routine maintenance. Shoreline protection includes removing material, placing rock, and restoration along the lake shore. This position is responsible for a variety of job tasks in the completion of landscape projects, including but not limited to paved areas, driveways, retaining walls, or any other landscaping made up of hard wearing materials such as stone, concrete etc. He or she would report to a crew leader and perform other duties as assigned by the crew leader.

Work Conditions
Ability to work with hand tools, small engine equipment, and materials
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift

Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, preferred
Experience in horticulture or landscaping preferred
Competent in the use of power tools (chainsaws, pruners, sod cutters, sprayers, rototillers, lawn mowers, line trimmers, etc.)
Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
Must possess a valid driver’s license (and able to attain a chauffeurs license)
Ability to follow safe working procedures
Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
Wage Range:
Based on education, certifications, and experience.
